Handcrafted photo printing has a history that predates the screen by over a century. This exhibition brings part of that history, and the proof of its continuing evolution, into the present.
Confluence began when those six bodies of work came together in one room. The result is 60-odd prints spanning seven distinct processes, some originating in the mid-1800s and one, FerroBlend, developed as recently as 2025 by exhibiting artist Raghavendra Udupa.
An image that turns into a handcrafted print has completed its journey. Confluence shows you where the road continues. This range of techniques, along with the intricacies, process combinations, artistic possibilities, and aesthetics of handmade prints, is unique to this exhibition.
The six artists will each exhibit a distinct practice. They aim to keep alternative photographic processes alive and raise awareness of their presence and prominence.
